Terms of Service
Last updated July 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Shugo (“Shugo”, “we”, “us”), a service that helps moderate WhatsApp groups. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Shugo.
What Shugo does
You add Shugo to your WhatsApp group as an admin, and it automatically removes messages that break the rules you set (spam, scams, banned words, message floods, and forwarded-chain messages, for example), and can remove members who break those rules. You control which groups Shugo is in and which rules apply.
Not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta
Shugo is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. “WhatsApp” is a trademark of its respective owner. You are responsible for using Shugo in a way that complies with WhatsApp’s own terms of service.
Your account
You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use Shugo.
Acceptable use
You agree that you will:
- Only connect groups you own or are authorized to moderate;
- Not use Shugo for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive;
- Not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service;
- Comply with all laws and third-party terms that apply to you, including WhatsApp’s.
Plans and billing
Shugo offers a free plan and a paid “Pro” plan. Paid subscriptions are billed through our payments provider, Polar, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the period you select (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
Service availability and changes
We work to keep Shugo running reliably, but the service is provided on a best-effort basis. We may add, change, or remove features over time. WhatsApp is a third-party platform we do not control, and changes on their side may affect how Shugo works.
Disclaimers
Shugo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will catch every unwanted message or member, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use Shugo at your own discretion and risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shugo and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using Shugo and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk or legal exposure.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of Shugo after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits any rights you may have that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence.
